Getting tired of just shooting holes in paper?
Ready to try something challenging?

Ancient City Shooting Range is introducing Action Pistol shooting for people who want to step up their level of proficiency with a handgun. Action pistol entails shooting paper and steel targets from different positions while being timed. Accuracy is important but a shorter time definitely factors in. All competitors are accompanied by two range officers during their stage which makes the action pistol match very safe and fun.

You may draw from a belt holster if you wish but a low ready start is also acceptable. Courses of fire (COF) will be different each month with both practical and fun applications. There are also magazine changes required so start brushing up on your reloading skills- safely! Action pistol is a great primer for those wishing to move on to IPSC competition as your speed and accuracy increase.

Come shoot with us and enjoy your pistols in a fun and safe atmosphere while sharpening your practical skills. Bring 150 rounds and you'll go home with some left over for the following month. It's thrilling, and something we're sure you'll enjoy. See you on the range! - Ken Kirby, Match Director

SECOND SATURDAY OF EACH MONTH

Sign-up will begin at 8:30am, Shooters meeting/brief at 9am, and shooting by 9:15. We will put a couple of "new shooter clinics" every month to bring, as the name states, new shooters up to speed on our rules, safety, and basics.

Combined divisions - these are NOT official results. Odd things happen when comparing these Combined results to the By Division results. Sometimes the 'Order of Finsh' changes. Normally this only occurs when two shooters have very similar scores in the 'By Division' results. This is because a different High Hit factor was set for stages in the combined results. This is a normal occurance, but it takes more of a math whiz than me to explain.
